The State has taken a policy decision that efforts would
be made to value-add products to the extent possible so that benefits
can be ploughed back to the community. Some of the initiatives taken
so far are as follows:-
- Aonla Murabba
in Panna, 60 Qtls in 2002, 500 Qtls in 2003.
- Aonla Sherbut
in Dewas, 700 Kgs in 2002, 15000 Kgs in 2003.
- Agarbatti Kadi(Incense Sticks) from Bamboo- 1000 Qtls in Harda, Seoni,
Balaghat, Panna, Betul districts.
- Handicrafts items and furniture from Bamboo in Balaghat,
Betul,Guna,Narsinghpur,Satna and Seoni districts.
- Rock Bee Honey processing in Sehore, Satna, Seoni, Sheopur districts - About
10 Qtls.
- Apiculture in Dewas (100 boxes) Betul and Rajgarh districts.
- Ayurvedic drug manufacture in Narsinghpur, Sehore, Seoni,Chindwara, Katni and Shahdol
districts.
- Medicinal Plants drying, grading, powdering and packing in Sehore, Seoni,
Shahdol, Katni, Balaghat, Chindwara, Sheopur and Narsinghpur
districts.
- Lac processing
plant set up in Seoni district.
- Sabai rope making in Balaghat, Narsinghpur districts.
- Aromatic oil distillation in Dewas, Seoni, Katni, Harda
A State-of-the-Art Processing-cum Training
Center is being set up in Barkheda Pathani, in the outskirts of
Bhopal. This will act as a model processing and training centre with
exhaustive infrastructure and latest laboratory facilities. The
construction of the centre is in full swing and production is due to begin
from December 2004.
