With the support of the National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB)
4 promotional projects are being implemented in Bhind, East Chhindwara
and Harda districts of the State with the twin objectives of development
and conservation of medicinal plants both in the in-situ and ex-situ
regions.

For promoting private participation in on-farm
cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants whereby the pressure
from the wild can be reduced to a certain extent the NMPB, through
its State Executive Agency or the State Medicine Plants Board or
SMPB (MFP Federation in the case of M.P) is providing 30% subsidy on
the total project cost. For the year 2002-2003 the NMPB sanctioned
56 projects with finnancial assistance of Rs. 303.0
lakhs. During 2003-2004 the NMPB has sanctioned 367 projects in
Madhya Pradesh with financial assistence of Rs. 877 lakhs.
